North End Heritage $10-20k
Following a renovation to a century cottage in Hamilton’s North End neighborhood, DICAM was invited to create a traditional front walk and plantings.
Our approach brought together cobble-stone style pavers, an intimate sitting area, and low wooden screens along the sidewalk. Formal plantings including raised planters, hydrangeas and boxwoods finish this classic picture.
Easy Outdoor Living $10-20k
Our teams love taking on spaces that we can completely transform in just a week or two. And our clients are always impressed with what we can do!
The rear yard of this retirement living unit is an elegant space to relax or entertain, and it requires exactly the amount of maintenance that the homeowner is interested in spending. DICAM constructed a small composite deck and used oversized paving stones and a simple layout to make a small space feel roomier.
Putting Down New Roots
$20-40k
A new family home in Mount Hope required a comprehensive approach to finish their landscape.
Our team installed an interlock patio and walkway, privacy fencing, grading and sod, tree plantings and perennials to turn their property from a raw construction zone into a personalized landscape that they are proud to call their own.
Mountain Brow Reboot
$20-40k
The owner of this beautiful property backing onto the Escarpment came to us for some fresh ideas to bring her landscape into a new era. An existing rear patio was crumbling and plantings around the house were looking cluttered and overgrown.
We removed the old concrete and installed a new patio with sleek contemporary pavers and bold diagonal accents. The planting beds were renovated for a carefully textured, minimalist feel.
New Life in Olde Dundas
$20-40k
This new townhouse near the heart of Dundas benefited from a close collaboration through the planning process between our own designer and the homeowners. Our challenge was to provide key functional needs for this tight lot without compromising aesthetics.
Our work included an interlock parking area, rear patio with a small retaining wall and steps, fencing, and a stepping stone path through the side yard. Carefully selected plantings soften the harder features of this landscape without reducing usable space.
Aldershot Renovation $20-40k
A dated front walkway was distracting from this tastefully updated bungalow. We stepped in to create a generous-sized front landing and to resurface the existing porch, while working carefully with some existing features and materials. We used a combination of natural stone and precast products for this project.
Multi-level Magic
$40-80k
A sloping grade, lack of privacy, and tight existing steps by the patio door had made this suburban backyard basically unusable. We worked with the natural slope to create distinct rooms at different levels, and integrated a shade canopy and columnar trees for privacy. Features include a custom cedar deck, an open dining area, and a sheltered lounge area with fire table.
This entire project was done within a strict two week window as an anniversary surprise!
Space for Everyone $40-80k
This property is located in a quiet Burlington cul-de-sac; a perfect place to invest in a backyard retreat. The homeowners contracted us for a series of projects including a generous patio and walkways, natural stone, and lush plantings. A firepit area, hot tub, and cabana offer a place for everyone, whether the homeowners are entertaining a group or looking for a quiet nook to relax in.
Classic Style $80k+
The owners of a newly-constructed custom build home in Oakville came to us for help with designing and building a formal landscape to compliment the house. We used interlock to lay out walkway and patio spaces, and used a natural sandstone to finish concrete porches in front and rear yards.
We made strong use of decorative planters and formal plantings with a serene white/green palette helped bring the landscape to life without distracting from the residence.
Lakefront Contemporary
$80k+
This contemporary home boasts an amazing setting with a lakefront view and a ravine on the back, but the homeowner needed to address a variety of practical concerns while keeping with a contemporary theme. Our design team work navigated the demands of drainage requirements, comfortable access and strategic screening on a sloping site.
We installed a dark natural limestone on the front steps and the pool coping, providing a sharp contrast with the light-colored, oversized pavers we used for driveway and patio areas. Features include privacy fencing, custom metalwork, water feature and composite decking- but all were applied in a restrained way to find the right balance of luxury and simplicity.
